In September 2025, we welcomed Taffy Thomas, the first ever Story Telling Laureate. Taffy shared many of the stories that he has collected along the years as well as telling us much about his life. He modelled his Tale Coat which was made by Paddy Killer, it portrays many of Taffy's stories and allows listeners to point at a picture and ask "tell that story, please".
Rydal WI are keen to support local organisations - in July 2025 we were delighted to have a speaker from North West Blood Bikes. Andy brought his motorbike along for us to sit on. North West Blood Bikes are staffed by volunteers so we held a collection for their funds, raising over £220.
